WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Trader, your main responsibilities will be to collaborate with other traders and developers in the design, optimisation and operation of our automated trading systems and strategies. This will involve:

Proactively seeking and capturing new trading opportunities
Managing a portfolio of financial instruments along with their associated risks
Modelling behaviour of financial markets to improve our pricing and execution
Optimising the latency and strategic logic of our trading algorithms

As a quant trader, your main responsibility will be to collaborate with other quant traders in the research, optimisation and operation of our complex systematic trading strategies. This will involve:

Analysing, modelling and seeking improvements to existing trading signals
Optimising, expanding and maintaining our database
Research, backtesting and expanding to new financial products and markets
Monitoring and maintenance of our production systems
Generating analytical reports on the performance of the trading strategies

WHO YOU ARE

An undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Actuarial, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Science (Chemistry, Physics etc), Software Engineering, Statistics, or any other quantitative discipline
You will need strong skills in mental maths, probability and logic
A programming language is advantageous but not essential
A keen interest in solving complex problems in a collaborative way
An curious nature paired with excellent verbal communication
A drive to get things done and deliver results
Quant role also requires:
Solid fundamentals in data science and statistics is essential; experience with time series, signal analysis and/or machine learning would be beneficial
A high degree of competency in at least one programming language is strongly recommended, Python experience preferred, C++, linux, bash experience is advantageous but not essential

We like our people to have an interest in the Financial markets or Trading but prior knowledge is not required, we will teach you everything you need to know. Mostly, we value your attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.

We currently only accept Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian Permanent Residents.
