What will you do?
You will have the opportunity to work directly with an established team of economists covering a range of topics, sectors, and regions. Throughout the summer you will also have the opportunity to hear and learn from senior leaders across RBC Capital Markets, expanding your knowledge base and network. Some specific tasks you may be assigned include:
- Support senior Canadian economists in research development and publication
- Spearhead one or two research or model development projects, such as related to consumer behaviour, demographic profiles, or forecasting provincial economies
- Contribute to PowerPoint presentations, reports, and notes
- Support internal and external stakeholders by answering questions related to RBC’s economic outlook
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- Working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in economics, education/experience related to public policy, international relations or data science
- Advanced analytical mindset; experience using data analytic tools such as R, Stata, Python, etc.
- Experience using PowerPoint, Word, Excel
- Strong understanding of Canadian economic data and sources
