We have a challenging opportunity available for an Actuarial Analyst/Senior Actuarial Analyst that encompasses pricing, rating projects and data capture. NOTE: Location is flexible and remote is possible.

  • Assist with pricing tool development and rating factor calibration as well as helping to create the appropriate data capture process by working and collaborating with the Pricing Product Leads

  • Develop tools and analyses that improve the effectiveness of the Premium Adequacy results

  • Build effective working relationships across the Pricing Actuarial team.

  • Create actuarial materials required for insurance filings with state DOI’s, including collaboration with impacted business stakeholders and the Product, Actuarial, and Finance Teams on identifying parameters of filing projects and target deadlines, reviewing material against state requirements, completing exhibits and transmittals, drafting manual rule pages and state exception pages

  • Coordinate actuarial responses for outstanding state objections

  • Develop tools and templates to improve efficiency of filing support preparation across various business units and programs

  • Coordinate with outside vendors on actuarial support of filings, including providing directions to vendors on filing execution in accordance with company procedures

  • Provide actuarial support to the Filing Team when creating and managing SERFF filing submissions

  • Provide actuarial support and updates to the Filing Team for filing project status reports and communication of filing project updates to impacted business stakeholders and the Product and Actuarial Teams

  • Maintain our internal AXIS Rates and Rules Library

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math or related discipline

  • 2-5+ years of relevant actuarial experience in commercial insurance and corresponding actuarial exam progress

  • Required technical skills include Microsoft Office applications including SharePoint, Python, Excel, SQL; experience with API construction is a plus

  • Pricing and rate filing experience is preferred

  • Experience with rate making, profitability analysis, product development, credibility methods

  • Experience with providing support for SERFF commercial filings

  • Good communication skills and be a self-starter. Ability to take the initiative and responsibility to complete assignments on time with little supervision

  • Exceptional organizational and task management skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to be a team player and collaborate with diverse colleagues

  • Available for occasional travel for meetings

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $110,000 - $140,000 (GA), $120,000 - $150,000 (Chicago), $125,000 - $160,000 (NYC). The specific salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including the experience of the successful candidate and their work location.
