Position Title: Associate, Quant Developer, Investment Systems

Location: 50 Hudson Yard, New York, NY 10001

Summary of Duties: Work on all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, application design, systems development, testing and implementation. Execute projects from start to finish either independently or with a project team. Analyze and support system capabilities for internal investment businesses by providing and supporting alpha-enabling technology and model engineering services. Develop an automated test suite based on functional and non-functional requirements, determine, and analyze test coverage, and develop programs to analyze system performance. Utilize various technologies, including Java, J2EE, EJB, application servers, JMS,JDBC, Swing, SQL, DDL/DML, stored procedures, data modeling, Oracle, Sybase, Apache, JBoss, Hibernate, Ant, Spring, Junit, QTP, and UNIX.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 24 months of experience as Analyst, Application Engineering, or a related occupation. Experience must include 24 months involving the following: utilizing programming languages, including Python, Java, Scala, R, C# or MATLAB; building highly performant, scalable and reliable software systems; utilizing development practices including Agile, opensource, TDD, CI/CD, FP, Object Oriented and design patterns; applying mathematics, machine learning or quantitative analysis to solve complex problems and deliver high quality, testable solutions; and working with hedge fund strategies, investment risk, equities, fixed income, or financial derivatives.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $178,200 - $195,000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week; some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
