Summary of duties: Research, develop, update, and maintain models, strategies, and tools with a focus on retirement solutions. Leverage the breadth of BlackRock’s proprietary risk and investment platform. Enhance human capital research through study of labor income, demographics, and behavioral finance related to retirement. Develop analytics to support strategists and client requests. Participate in ad-hoc research projects and papers with internal and external parties on retirement related topics. Gather, maintain, and analyze economic and financial data in support of research. Build relationships with other teams supporting the research process. Closely partner with multiple teams across the organization (Strategy, Risk, and Quantitative Analysis Group) in the execution of joint research work.
Qualifications: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Finance, Mathematical Finance, Economics, Managerial Economics, or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, Associate, Quant Research, Analyst, or related occupation. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in the above listed fields and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the same required skills. Requires three (3) years of experience (with Master's) and five (5) years of experience (with Bachelor's) in the following: Working across a range of asset classes including equity, fixed income, and real assets in analysis of financial models that span multiple asset classes; gathering, maintaining, and analyzing economic and financial data in support of research to test financial models/strategies and understand various market behavior; leveraging investment markets, in accordance with geographical regions, to develop new financial models; implementing financial engineering models including, optimization and stochastic calculus to assess foundations and developments of new and complex models; assessing and developing financial models and relevant portfolio reporting for compliance and auditing purposes, as well as providing information to clients, as needed, to attract new business; and researching, updating, and maintaining financial models, strategies, and tools while utilizing programming skills including, Python and Jupyter Lab.

For California only the salary range for this position is $147,000 - $156,500. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 3 days in the office each week, with the flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week; some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
