This role of a business analyst in Configuration Operations will give you opportunity to work with industry experts with cross-functional team such as Product and Pricing Managers, Pricing Specialists, and Deal Analysts. You will be part of team that helps VMWare’s focus to become a SaaS & Subscription- centered company

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • You are expected to understand process for Configuration modeling for all VMWare products
  • You will be also expected to create and manage Configuration Business Rules for VMWare products by participating in NPI/NSI process
  • You will be expected to get familiarized with configuration requirements while working with Product Managers and Pricing/Marketing Managers.
  • In addition, you will interact with business and technical teams to find the best and most efficient solutions and creating the best user experience possible for configuration needs
  • You are expected to bring a problem-solving attitude to Conflict resolution and negotiations skills to resolve disagreements quickly and effectively
  • You will build domain expertise in related functional areas (marketing, quoting, pricing, renewals, partner, service, and sales operations.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

  • You and your peers provide day-to-day support related to configuration operations to internal users. In doing so, you will partner with Product/Pricing Managers, operations team in pricing, quoting and other CPQ functions.
  • Among different daily tasks, you will be able to identify potential process improvements and potential long-term solutions, help your peers creating knowledge articles, triage and resolve support cases and change requests within SLAs, collaborate when required with Engineering, Product Owners, Business and Solution Architects resolving business capabilities, set and communicate resolution time frames to users/stakeholders, lead and facilitate training sessions within the team/users/stakeholders, take part or even ownership of assigned activities when required
  • You may also be engaged with stakeholders to understand their business processes and impact of our operations in their ecosystem, working closely with product owners to lead and develop post deployment support plans and participate in discussions with stakeholders on identifying root cause of issues, process gaps, user training, process re-engineering or simply collecting, assimilating, and documenting requirements for future enhancements.

You will be surrounded by an exciting and dynamic global team of domain experts in Configuration, Pricing, and Quoting functions. Configuration Operations reports to Pricing & Monetization team within the Finance Department. This team takes care of configuration modeling requirement for all VMWare products in collaboration with Product and Pricing Managers. It plays a pivotal role in VMWare’s transformation to a SaaS and Subscription-centric company.
