Job Description

What you 'll be doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Financial Crimes & Enterprise Risk Technology team to deliver information security technology utilizing agile framework. You’ll work closely with others and manage a portfolio of small projects from end-to-end. As a Business Systems Consultant/Scrum Master, you’ll lead teams of technology and business stakeholders to ensure minor enhancements to the applications are completed in line with the agile framework, team’s budget and timeline. You’ll advocate the Scrum and Kanban process, model agile behaviors, and help bring a product vision to life in cooperation with the product owner and development team. In this role you will be responsible for creating the technical requirements through user stories, leading the product backlog creation, and consulting with developers, engineers, architects and other technical teams to innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class client experience. You will be responsible for making decisions that influence department strategy, regularly recommending new processes to facilitate and champion the BSC/scrum process following the values, principles and practices of agile scrum delivery that is part of the agile delivery framework.

How you 'll succeed

  • Agile Expertise – Be the expert in scrum agile methodology. Facilitate a range of scrum activities, including The Sprint, Daily Scrums, Retrospective Meetings, and Backlog Refinement. Actively promote agile and scrum methodology across the business to enable quick, effective, and meaningful transformation.

  • Collaboration – Work closely with development teams and product owners to discover and implement scrum best practices. Communicate key updates to stakeholders, and balance their demands as needed. Collaborate with Agile Coaches to ensure there is alignment with the Agile Delivery Framework, and provide feedback on an ongoing basis.

  • Understanding and documenting requirements - Work closely with business and technology partners to gather complex technical user stories/requirements (functional & non-functional) and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Create strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.

  • Coaching – Leverage your expertise to educate individuals and teams about agile and scrum methodologies. Coach development teams to implement scrum practices to drive change. Ensure your team is on track to deliver on project objectives by coaching the development team to achieve higher levels of scrum maturity.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in a BSC, project manager or scrum master role leading projects, creating technical requirements and designing solutions

  • You have experience in working with data, back-end systems and have a technical background, yet have strong business acumens to understand what the business really needs wants.. You MUST have professional exposure in system development lifecycle utilizing the waterfall delivery approach and experience in delivering technical/solution requirements.
