As a Barclays Central Risk Developer, you will be in charge of the building technology for Central Risk Desk. Central risk desk essentially consists of quantitative traders, who builds machine learning models to trade in real-time to manage the portfolio risk. As part of the technology team, you will need to build data-pipelines from different vendors like Exegy/Reuters/Markit etc. across different asset classes like Options/Futures/Single Stocks and this feeds into real-time and research environment for the quants.

Salary / Rate Minimum: $70,000

Salary / Rate Maximum: $90,000

What will you be doing?

  • Working on several key systems in Barclays central risk platform, implementing business features and technical improvements to meet tight performance requirements

  • Learning business behind Global cash equities trading, risk management and regulations applied on this business with deep Java technical aspects

  • Engaging with business analysts, testing teams and developers of other parts of trading platform on local and global scale

  • Following well-organized and tight development process following agile/scrum and test-driven development principals

  • Using fully-integrated dev toolset from Attlassian such as Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket, TeamCity as continuous integration tool

  • Helping application support teams to investigate production issues and do improvements to make the platform stable, maintainable, and resilient

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electronics/Electrical engineering from reputed College/University

  • Relevant Coursework credits for Data Structures and Algorithms

  • Passion for coding and good proficiency one or more languages

  • Ability to work in a team

Skills That Will Help You In The Role

  • Open mind-set and keen to learn, we are willing to teach you everything
  • Knowledge of Java or Scala
  • Experience with dependency injections frameworks, ideally: Spring, Guice, HK2
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology
