Support Data Governance across the enterprise enabling business growth while ensuring compliance with risk and regulatory expectations. The role evaluates established and emerging practices and technologies to drive the team's direction, while implementing innovative processes and solutions to provide competitive advantage. This role will partner with teams and resources across the organization to streamline and improve the overall data quality and deploy self-service data capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Applies a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end data processes/flows and concepts to implement frameworks, processes, controls, models, and solutions to ensure data is effectively managed across the organization or within a specific business unit.

•Implements data stewardship and other relevant data accountability structures across business and technology organizations to ensure data is effectively managed. Drives organizational change as necessary to implement data frameworks, processes, controls, etc. across the organization or within a given business unit.

  • Performs automated data quality testing of data management activities to identify areas of improvement opportunity and perspective remediation efforts. Performs testing, measures, and reports remediation efforts.

  • Validates the data output across the data pipelines and certifies the authenticity of the data.

  • Creates and implements processes and procedures associated with data quality assurance.

  • Implement strategic data governance capabilities by working with business and technology partners to document requirements and create action plans.

  • Analyzes possible solutions using experience, judgment and precedents and makes decisions within guidelines or standard practices to solve routine problems of moderate complexity. Escalates data quality issues.

  • Collaborate closely with peer teams to ensure coordination, synergy and seamless overall execution.

  • Identify data issues and work with technology, risk and business partners to triage, track, communicate, mitigate and remediate the issues to closure.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the planning and execution of data management activities such as data sourcing, data lineage, and metadata management and data quality.

  • Drive solution design and execution of multi-pronged data governance efforts that span across platforms and business/technology areas to address enterprise data needs.

  • Acts as a resource for teammates with less experience. May have people management responsibilities for a small team.

Required Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Bachelor's degree in information technology, information systems, computer science or business-related field, six years of experience in a role of data analysis, statistical analysis, data transformation, data reconciliation and/or sophisticated data presentation or equivalent education and related training or experience
2. Experience in ETL Development using standard tools
3. Understanding of Enterprise Data Warehouse concepts and prior experience applying that understanding to query data in a Very Large Database (VLDB) environment
4. Familiarity in using a query analysis tool

Preferred Qualifications:

  • History of effective performance within shared service, matrix or federated environments and Internal or external consulting experience.

  • Experience in SQL and Unix (basic Unix commands to access database servers and lookup jobs and scripts).

  • Basic knowledge of any ETL languages such as Informatica PowerCenter, Abnitio and/or SAS.

  • Experience in process documentation, and an understanding of data flows and architectural diagrams.

  • Ability to interpret and present complex information to a range of audience

  • Ability to learn and implement new technologies and industry trends.
