Our Internship Program

Cboe interns work with a variety of staff across multiple departments and have the opportunity to put their skills to work in their field of interest, while learning about Exchange technology and operations through our robust Options Institute courses. The three main foundational pillars of our internship program are: develop, educate and network. We want to ensure each of our interns receive a real-world working experience that encourages academic, professional and personal growth. Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our internship program runs from June to August.

**Data & Analytics Intern Overview **

This position is a summer internship. We are seeking a versatile intern who is intelligent, eager, personable, independent, assertive and able to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive, financial and technological environment. The intern will be involved in numerous projects working with various teams across the organization (Data & Analytics, Business Intelligence, Quantitative Analysis, Salesforce and Engineering teams). The position is slated to begin in June and end in August and will work a full 40 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge with Python and SQL, capable of querying and working with large datasets
  • Capable of conducting data analysis and building models, knowledge of other advanced statistics / machine learning / mathematics concepts used in financial modeling
  • Ability to execute moderately complex tasks that are part of a quantitative research and may develop solutions under ambiguity with some guidance
  • Knowledge of Tableau or other data visualization tools, capable of creating automated dashboards that help identify key insights
  • Basic knowledge of Cloud computing to be able to interact with software in Cloud to conduct analysis and collaborate with Data Engineers to create data /analysis pipelines
  • Basic knowledge of Git to be able to regularly check-in and commit to Git repositories
  • Good writing skills to be able to summarize quantitative research / quantitative analysis in a concise and accurate manner
  • Ability to think creatively and propose new ways to employ quantitative methods
  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Financial Engineering or a similarly quantitative field.
