JOB DESCRIPTION

Use your analytical skills to identify opportunities to improve our Home Lending organization.

As a Data Scientist Sr Associate on the Home Lending Modelling team, you’ll join an organization that builds, implements, tests, and analyses ML/AI products & solutions. Your ability to understand data relationships and takes ownership of data-driven tasks will be a key to your success. You’ll also develops approaches and/or processes to accomplish goals with an emphasis on programming & advanced analytics. You’ll utilize strong communication skills to effectively operate in direct collaboration with key stakeholders across functions and lines-of-business.

Responsibilities

  • Converts data into actionable insights
  • Leverages a variety of statistical and mathematical techniques and algorithms to analyze a variety of datasets to solve complex business problems
  • Designs controlled experiments to test and validate hypotheses
  • Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions
  • Develops presentations to summarize and communicate key messages to senior management, sponsors and colleagues

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience working in an analytical role
  • BS degree in a related field, such as Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or similar STEM discipline
  • Deep understanding of data structure and strong SQL skills
  • Experience using statistical programming languages (Python, R) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • Practical understanding of advanced statistics, A/B testing, and machine learning
  • Adept at explaining and converting complex concepts into digestible information to be consumed by audiences at various levels of the business
  • Strong storytelling capabilities
  • Aptitude for learning new theory and new technology

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Master’s Degree
  • Functional industry experience in finance, operations, sales, marketing, credit/risk, or technology
  • Knowledge of the mortgage industry
