At Aquatic, we are actively recruiting for a Data Strategy and Operations in
our Chicago or New York offices.
In this role, you will be a part of our Business Operations team, and work to
advance the firm’s global data initiatives, including:
- Partnering with Research and Development to identify, prioritize, and develop thematic research opportunities
- Designing data sourcing strategies, globally, across all asset classes
- Building and managing 3rd party relationships across data vendors and brokers
- Evaluating and implementing tools to manage the firm’s data initiatives (e.g., CRM software, data asset catalog)
- Identifying and implementing process improvements across data discovery, evaluation, and procurement processes
This role works directly with all areas of the firm, including Research &
Development, Technology, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Aquatic Leadership.
Key skills:
- An outstanding ability to analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently (both oral and written), work well in cross-functional teams
- Excellent project management skills with a track record of organizing and delivering cross-functional projects with explicit timelines
- Familiarity with tools related to knowledge management, workflow tracking, and project management tools
- Comfortable and proficient with data analysis in Excel; knowledge of a programming language (e.g., Python, C++) and proficiency in MATLAB, R, and/or Tableau (or any other data visualization packages) helpful
- Advanced PowerPoint skills strongly preferred
Candidate Qualities:
- 4-6 years of experience, ideally in a top-tier management consulting firm with a focus on financial services / business strategy or a top-tier quant hedge fund in a similar role
- Graduate degree (e.g., MBA), or similar experience
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong bias for action
- Driven by accountability and internal urgency
- Comfortable providing and receiving actionable feedback in a collaborative team setting
- Motivated by an ambitious environment and driven colleagues
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to present a polished, professional, and diplomatic image to all stakeholders

Director at Citadel, where he worked for more than 13 years. At Citadel, Jon
held numerous senior positions over the years, including head of Statistical
