**About the position: **

Old Mission Capital is seeking a Desktop Support Intern for our New York Office. This Desktop Support Specialist will be responsible for our Windows desktop environment and will provide technical support regarding any workstation, laptop, phone, or application issues that arise, working hand in hand with the Desktop Engineering Manager and other Desktop Engineers. This individual will have outstanding communication skills and will have a team-oriented attitude. You’ll also have the opportunity to assist with the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems that host proprietary trading, third-party, and open-source applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and future planning needs of the company’s Windows 10 & 11 desktop environment
  • Perform basic break/fix and desktop re-imaging
  • Deploy and support new and existing Windows Desktops
  • Ensure that all Windows desktops are kept updated with the latest patches and security updates
  • Install and troubleshoot software
  • Provide support and maintenance on all Microsoft office suite applications and various other desktop applications
  • Respond to helpdesk tickets, alerts and perform basic remediation steps

**Required Skills: **

  • Working towards an undergraduate or advanced degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant field
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Windows 10 & 11 operating system experience is preferred
  • Willingness to learn Network troubleshooting (DNS, TCP/IP, etc.), phone support, and Video Conferencing
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task
  • Genuine curiosity and desire to work in a Linux environment
  • Superior organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds
