Passaic Capital, one of the largest teams within Millennium’s equity platform, is looking to add a dedicated investment analyst within its Emerging Markets Long / Short Equity Strategy. The analyst will have a generalist mandate and lead coverage responsibilities for Latin American equities listed in both the United States and respective local exchanges.
Job Function Summary:
Principal Responsibilities: The main goal is to employ fundamental stock analysis to recommend relative value trades within the dedicated investment universe. In order to achieve this, the following responsibilities are relevant:
- Build and maintain financial and operating models on a wide array of business models, complemented by alternative data sources that can validate an investment thesis
- Conduct meetings with senior management of listed companies in the region. This requires attendance to the most relevant industry conferences alongside travel to the local markets to perform in-depth due diligence
- Monitor news flow on a daily basis for timely recommendation implementation and changes
- Complement stock selection process with appropriate factor analysis and an overview of the relevant macroeconomic risks associated with the recommendation
- Create research tools that assist in the tracking, timing and conviction of investment ideas
- Review and interpret earnings releases and earnings calls of individual companies
Qualifications / Skills Required:
- Work Experience: At least five years of relevant experience (sell-side: investment banking, equity sales, equity research) buy-side: investing across any part of capital structure in a public or private markets role) is required to apply for this role.
- Local Markets Skills: A deeply rooted interest in Latin America local markets is required. This interest can come from one or a combination of: family background, time spent abroad, academic studies, or current or past work experience.
- Languages: Fluency in Spanish and / or Portuguese, recommended but not required.
- Must be highly proficient in building financial models and interpreting corporate filings and financial statements
- Solid communication skills and high maturity level
The estimated base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. Millennium pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package. When finalizing an offer, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
