We are seeking our next motivated Energy Analyst to join our growing energy trading desk.

We use machine learning technology for reading and interpreting fundamental and market data and execute our trading strategies based on this data. Alipes aims to support liquid electricity markets and free flow of energy, which are crucial to facilitate the transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, thereby promoting a sustainable future.

We are centrally located in Nordhavn, Copenhagen, and have 80 bright and ambitious team members.

About the Job

You will be a part of a dynamic team whose primary responsibility is to develop new strategies and ensure that all algorithms and systems run smoothly on a daily basis. This means handling the full algorithm life-cycle from inception, through calibration, backtesting, live-implementation, validation and post-release monitoring and optimisation.

At Alipes, we offer a steep learning curve with responsibility and ownership from day one. You will have the responsibility for reviewing positions and overall exposure, as well as adjusting if applicable - this also includes shared on-call responsibility within the team for the occasional calls that come in outside of business hours. We take pride in maintaining a healthy risk reward trade-off by maximizing revenue under exposure and regulatory constraints. In addition, you will collaborate closely with our Tech and Quant teams.

About You

You have a Masters in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or related field, or a Bachelors with some relevant professional experience.
Experience working with Python. Experience with SQL is a plus.
Experience with energy or trading in financial markets.
Structured and enjoy analyzing large data sets.
Conscientious with an eye for detail, even when tasks become routine or pressured.
You take initiative and ownership in your work.
Analytical and love working with numbers.
