What you’ll do as an Engineering Manager in the Risk team at Akuna:

Akuna Capital is looking for an experienced hands-on Engineering Manager to join our growing Technology team and enhance our global risk platform. The Risk Development team designs and operates the global systems and processes that manage the market, credit, and counterparty risk for our rapidly growing business. We trade across multiple asset classes and geographies; due to the scale and complexity of our environment we rely heavily on automation. The ideal candidate will lead a team and work closely with our Traders and Risk Analysts to design and build tools and automated data flows that provide transparency to the business and ensure the smooth running of our global trading operations. In this role, you will:

  • Manage a team of less than 5 software engineers
  • Build next generation highly scalable, real-time risk valuation software
  • Build out infrastructure for real-time risk valuation
  • Create data schema that accurately models market risk domain
  • Work with analysts to develop new ways of modeling risk
  • Work with C++ pricing team to develop risk vol models and dynamics

Qualities that make great candidates:

  • Experience or interest in leading a team of Software Engineers
  • 5+ years working with Python and C++ in a professional production environment.
  • Experience working with relational databases (especially Postgres)
  • Experience with asynchronous programming in Python
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Highly collaborative in nature, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with the trading domain and finance (option Greeks)
  • Proven ability to communicate with users to understand requirements and to design and implement appropriate solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent
