Job Title European High Yield Trader

You will sit within the European (EU) High Yield Credit Trading desk in London. The desk’s main activity comprises market making and carrying inventory of High Yield Corporate Bonds. The Desk primarily trades with large institutional investors. The traders are supported by an integrated desk analyst team which manages, and analyses risks and generates trade ideas to facilitate customer demand.

The desk is looking for someone to take on trading responsibilities in the High Yield Credit Trading team. You will have direct contact with the sales force, promote the franchise, run positions, and identify value through education in the various products, systems and market practice.

Your key responsibilities

  • Pricing, trading, and risk managing a securities book
  • Providing liquidity and recycling risk profitably
  • Developing and enhancing the European Flow Credit franchise
  • Analysing market structure and the opportunities and threats there-in
  • Managing financial risk and non-financial risks
  • Interacting with clients, sales and internal counterparties in other trading, coverage, and structuring functions to increase market transparency and to generate new business

Your skills and experience

  • Previous relevant experience in investment grade trading in London
  • Knowledge/understanding of Credit, Credit Liquidity, Credit Pricing, and the European Client Base
  • Detail oriented, naturally inquisitive, and consistently striving for self-education
  • Ability to display innovation as part of a market-leading team with the end goal of making money and developing the business/franchise
