The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated, dependable, and committed Trader to join the fundamental equities trading team in our London office. You will have a passion for trading, an understanding of the European equities market, and an ability to collaborate with portfolio managers and other teams cross- functionally to support execution activities. You will be proactive, cultivating strong relationships across internal/external stakeholder groups and be able to communicate professionally and effectively.

What you’ll do ** **

• Execute EMEA equity orderflow primarily via low touch execution channels and using our execution management system
• Contribute to best practice execution on trades and ensure the desk is always providing best execution service to Portfolio Managers
• Proactively collaborate with our Portfolio Managers to discuss positions, flows, and market dynamics
• Extract useful market color and flow information from our trading counterparties and other sources
• Understand Operations & Technology issues associated with the European Trading desk
• Responsible for liaising with our Operations team, assisting with activities such as position reconciliations, corporate actions, queries, and price feeds
• Facilitate position transfers across portfolios and strategies
• Liaise with our Front Office Technology group on various process and workflow improvements such as automation and internalization.
• Understand day-to-day risk, regulatory, and compliance issues associated with all execution matters in Europe
• Contribute to, and help to manage, our counterparty relationships and commission schedules; providing feedback when required

_What you’ll bring
_ What you need:

• Professional experience in a trading environment; some knowledge of equities markets is essential
• A knowledge and understanding of the European liquidity landscape
• Demonstrable understanding of general market protocol and etiquette, equity pricing and positioning
• Knowledge around broker-sponsored algorithms, broker cash desks, liquidity venues, ECNs, dark pools and DMA facilities
• Fluency with trading technology, execution management systems and order management systems
• Proactive, committed and dependable values
• Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards
• Hard working with strong attention to detail
• Deep curiosity and strong analytical skills
• Experience with Bloomberg
• Proficiency using Excel; simple macro programming experience preferred
• Academic credentials in finance, economics, computer science, math, statistics, or related financial or quantitative field

We’d love if you had:

• Familiarity with Portware (execution management system)
• Advanced Excel and/or coding skills
• Experience trading equity options
• Knowledge of the European equity market microstructure and the evolving liquidity and regulatory landscape
