Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Hardware Engineer to join one of our highly specialized, trading team-aligned engineering teams.
This team works closely with one of Tower’s major global trading teams to devise and support ultra-low latency market access solutions. With access to a wide and continually growing range of global financial markets and cutting edge tools, the team implements new technical capabilities, ensuring optimal performance, and providing expert market intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, testing and deploying some of the fastest, most sophisticated trading systems in the world
- Developing software that can drive the hardware design to its peak performance
- Improving the efficiency of the hardware development workflow
- Integrating hardware designs into a larger software stack
- Performance measurement and optimization throughout the system, from the SERDES all the way to the Linux kernel and user space applications
Qualifications
- An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- 2-3 years of practical, hands-on industry experience
- A background in both RTL design and software engineering
- Experience with FPGA vendor tools such as Vivado / Quartus
- Software development experience with a language such as C++ or Java
- A strong understanding of the Linux operating system
- Understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP and Ethernet
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- A keen interest in using software engineering methodologies to improve the efficiency of the hardware development workflow
