Hudson River Trading (HRT) is looking for a Head of IT to lead the Information
Technology team. You will manage a diverse team of IT operations and
engineering professionals, and collaborate with various departments to align
technology solutions with business goals. This position requires a strategic
leader who excels in both people management and hands-on technical work to
ensure the best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, vision, and direction to develop and implement comprehensive IT strategy and systems across the firm
- Lead and develop managers, across various teams within IT operations and engineering
- Prioritize projects and initiatives based on their necessity and impact, aligning with team and firm-wide goals
- Identify and prioritize technical debt by triaging new and existing projects
- Collaborate on technical architecture and design decisions across various disciplines and teams within the firm
- Ensure IT operations are thoroughly documented and tracked to enable data-driven decision-making
- Maintain pristine support to provide our end users with an exceptional digital experience
- Develop and implement scalable infrastructure and automation solutions to ensure seamless growth and optimal efficiency across the firm
- Maintain security and compliance as fundamental priorities in all IT initiatives and projects
- Administer systems, write code, and move equipment as needed – no task is too small
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience leading global technology teams in high-growth tech-centric companies
- Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on staff development and team building
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Well-versed in project management, service management, and agile methodologies
- Extensive knowledge of modern cloud computing, IaaS/IaC, and SaaS platforms
- Extensive knowledge of endpoint management and security for macOS, Windows, and Linux
- Substantial knowledge of various APIs, methods, and systems integrations
- Substantial knowledge of developer workflows, including code repositories, revision control, CI/CD pipelines, and the SDLC
Annual base salary range of $200,000 to $300,000. Pay (base and bonus) may
vary depending on job-related skills and experience. A sign-on and
discretionary performance bonus may be provided as part of the total
compensation package, in addition to company-paid medical and/or other
benefits.
