Intern – Software – Minnesota

Farallon Capital Management, L.L.C.® is a global institutional asset management firm. Position Overview

The 2025 Summer Intern will join the Software team in our Edina, Minnesota office. This internship offers exposure to a variety of impactful projects aimed at optimizing data processes, developing user-focused interfaces, and enhancing operational workflows using new cloud technologies.

Interns will have the opportunity to choose from a diverse set of projects, including front-end development, low-code solutions, and data transformation initiatives. We are seeking well-rounded candidates who are self-motivated, take initiative, and can see projects through to completion. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges, collaborate with experienced professionals, and make meaningful contributions in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Aide in the development of web-based front-end interfaces and components for data applications, focusing on user experience and functionality.
  • Support API integration tasks to streamline data collection and improve operational
  • Assist with deploying applications in Azure Cloud, ensuring scalability, security, and
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to optimize workflows, including automation and process improvement.
  • Participate in data transformation projects, handling and analyzing large datasets in formats like JSON, XML, and SQL.
  • Explore and utilize AI tools and machine learning frameworks (where applicable) to drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Document processes, provide system updates, and assist end-users with technical
  • Take on additional tasks aligned with team priorities and personal interests.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • Must be in good academic
  • Basic programming knowledge - JavaScript, SQL, HTML/CSS and familiarity with data handling and transformation (JSON, XML, SQL formats).
  • Demonstrated interest in software development, data processes, or operational
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a curiosity to learn and adapt to new tools and
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and convey ideas
  • Works independently, takes ownership of tasks, and follows through to complete
  • Flexible and able to adjust to shifting priorities or changing

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience with front-end development frameworks like React, TypeScript and
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as
  • Familiarity with low-code tools like Power
  • Familiarity with API technology such as Graph QL, ODATA, REST, or SOAP
  • Basic understanding of AI and machine learning tools or frameworks
  • Microsoft Ecosystem: Power Tools, Excel
  • Interest in back-end development, particularly with technologies such as SQL Server, Entity Framework Core, C# and ASP.NET Core

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and expertise. The monthly salary for this San Francisco-based position is $ 5720.00
