Who You 'll Work With:

The research technology team supports Global Research publishing and distribution activities of the institutional sell side research business for both Bernstein and Autonomous. Key activities are to contribute and lead the ongoing development initiatives within research technology on applications such as research publishing workflow, compliance automation, intranet and internet website development.

What You 'll Do:

This position will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, deploying, and supporting applications to enhance the business/operational processes in use by sell side research analysts, associates and management. The role requires hands-on development and be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle using agile best practices.

  • Design and implement business applications such as Bernstein Research Website, Intranet Website Beehive, integration with Bluematrix research authoring platform.

  • Collaborate with global development global teams using Agile best practices and adhere to company standards.

  • Comply with development best practices including source code control, defect tracking, while adhering to firmwide SDLC policies.

  • Support, maintain, and document application functionality, software testing and quality assurance.

  • Lead design, code reviews and project planning

  • Track all ongoing projects and communicate their status in a timely manner to stakeholders.

  • Maintain communication and respond to support requests.

  • The team’s applications are large and complex, so the ideal candidate will have to learn quickly and possess in-depth knowledge of both .Net and C#. Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, ASP.Net, Html and JavaScript

**What We 're Looking For: **

We are seeking a motivated Developer who is passionate about improving business outcomes through use of technology. The candidate should have the ability to write efficient, readable, and maintainable code using technologies such as JavaScript: React, Bootstrap, Server: C#, ASP.NET, MVC/Webform, Integration: WebServices, API Integration and SQL server databases.

Experience working with cloud-based technologies is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates should have a solid knowledge of engineering practices such as source control and continuous integration.

  • Bachelors or Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field

  • Minimum three years professional experience

  • Experience with popular JS frameworks such as React, Angular, Bootstrap

  • Experience in Microsoft .NET Application tech stack using C#, ASP.NET/Core, Webform/MVC

  • Experience in WebServices, REST API integration

  • Experience in writing SQL queries and stored procedures with complex joins and unions.

  • Experience working in Agile methodology using JIRA and Wiki

  • Experience developing distributed systems

  • Web Graphical user interface design/development skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • C# (ASP.Net MVC/Web Form, REST/WCF Services)

  • SQL (SQL Server Preferred, T-SQL)

  • HTML5/CSS3

  • JavaScript frameworks React/Angular

  • Report Development (SSRS) - preferred

  • Bootstrap - preferred

  • Equity research experience - preferred

In accordance with Section 8-107(32) as set forth in the New York City Human Rights Law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:

Base Salary Range: $105,000-115,000

Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
