Job Description

Junior Discretionary Trader

We are looking for entrepreneurial and highly motivated individuals interested in gaining hands-on trading experience through our mentorship program. As a Junior Discretionary Trader in our program, you will have daily training and guidance from our most profitable discretionary traders to learn the intricacies of the futures markets and how to capitalize on them. At the end of the mentorship program, you will be able to successfully capture edge while leveraging our low latency proprietary platform and trading tools.

We are targeting a select few who thrive on uncertainty, discipline, and strategic thinking. If you possess the ability to stay calm under pressure, adapt to rapidly changing environments, and maintain a laser-sharp focus, we want you. No prior trading experience is necessary—just your relentless drive to learn, your passion for mastering complex games, satisfying your competitive instincts, and your dedication to achieving success.

The Role:

  • Trade your own account within a global team of talented individual traders.
  • Performance-based compensation through PNL share.
  • Leverage our state-of-the-art technology to capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Contribute ideas and participate in collaborative conversations around market fundamentals and events.

What We Offer:

  • Benefit from hands-on training, mentorship, and shadowing senior traders. Our structured training program is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in trading.
  • Training from likeminded professional gaming and poker players with technology that gives you a unique edge.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Prior experience in a high-pressured, competitive environment (trading, gaming, poker, chess, athletics, etc.)
  • Analytical problem-solvers with excellent logical reasoning and a passion for dynamic, quickly moving games.
  • Continuous Learning: The financial markets are constantly evolving, and successful traders are committed to ongoing education. They are unafraid to ask questions, admit mistakes, and are comfortable in an environment full of uncertainty.
  • Entrepreneurial and self-motivated: Thrive on entirely performance-based compensation and in an environment with complete accountability.
  • Grit: The ability to persist and perform through losses and setbacks is essential.

This role is based in our Chicago office, where the in-office experience for trader development, education, and mentorship programs is paramount.

Benefits and Compensation:

Base Salary Range: $42,000 + bonus based on percentage of trading PnL.

Beyond the base salary, our full-time employees receive a competitive total rewards package, including a comprehensive benefits program. Learn more about our employee incentives here: https://www.genevatrading.com/employee- incentives/
