The role

G-Research is seeking passionate technologists to join our expanding global Software Engineering Services (SES) function in Dallas.

Our SES function manages a diverse portfolio of products ranging from SDLC/DevOps services, to security and IAM. Working in partnership with other engineering functions, including Infrastructure and Middleware and Compute Platforms, the team continues to build out our on-premises cloud solution based on best-in-class cloud technologies. Our technologies include foundation compute, storage and networking technologies offered directly as well as composed into high order platforms such as big data, managed RDBMS and peer services, using automation and self-service.

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will understand and gain exposure to how we deploy and maintain our current platforms using GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.

We are looking for enthusiastic Engineers, with an active interest in new technologies and a desire for continuous self-learning.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Delivering self-service and pipeline driven deployments to our current platforms
  • Helping to implement SQL Server on Linux platforms with a view to migrating our existing estate
  • Understanding and working on our full stack of technology tooling, such as Ansible, Python, Jenkins, Prometheus and Grafana
  • Learning to configure and maintain geo-location database technologies on Linux, such as Clustering/Replication
  • Exploring new tooling and automation to enhance both the customer and operational user experience
