AutoCAD ML Team @ Autodesk

The AutoCAD ML team is at the center of a company-wide transformation to build the next generation of features that leverage Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to help optimize workflows for our customers. AutoCAD® is a computer-aided design (CAD) software that architects, engineers, and construction professionals rely on to create precise 2D and 3D drawings. This globally leading product is currently used by millions to design objects from electrical panels to construction floor plans.

Position Overview

As a Machine Learning Engineer Intern, you’ll help research, prototype , and develop product features that rely on leveraging machine learning to push the boundaries on what our customers expect from AutoCAD today. Our current project involves working with complex image data and combining meta information to identify better group and discover them. We’re exploring ideas around active learning, object detection and image segmentation to better categorize the data.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, and prototyping of machine learning and deep learning solutions

  • Build and enhance infrastructure that improves development and deployment of models

  • Work with the team to improve current practices and process

  • Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, design, and other stakeholders to prototype and build new product features

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a full-time, Master or PhD degree seeking program with an expected graduation date in 2024 with a focus in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a quantitative-related field

  • Strong CS Fundamentals with a Proficiency in Python

  • Knowledge in training and tuning machine learning and deep learning models

  • Strong communicator who can collaborate effectively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in researching and applying machine learning to solve problems pertaining to Computer Vision

  • Prior research in object detection architectures

  • Familiarity in using TensorFlow/PyTorch

  • Familiarity with Graphs and GNNs

About the US Intern Program

The 2023 U.S. program runs for 12 weeks (May 22 – August 11 or June 12 – September 1). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. US recruiting begins in the Fall and concludes end of March. Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting annualized base salary between $41,000 and $81,400. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
