We are looking for a passionate Machine Learning Engineer Intern to join us on the Ad Relevance team. Our mission in Ad Relevance is to make the Spotify ad- supported experience relevant and engaging for our users by playing the right ad at the right time. You will investigate potential data sources that could contribute to our models and evaluate their usefulness. You will be able to improve upon both technical and business skills through industry experience that we hope to cater towards your career aspirations. Above all, your work will impact Spotify’s ad-supported user experience.

What you'll do
Apply machine learning, audio signal processing, NLP, and deep learning methods to massive data sets
Prototype new algorithms, evaluate with small scale experiments, and later productionize solutions at scale to our users
Collaborate with a cross functional agile team of backend engineers, data engineers, ML experts, data scientists, and others to build new product features
Help drive optimization, testing and tooling to improve data quality
Develop your technical (Python, Scala, SQL, Engineering fundamentals, etc) and soft skills
Participate in shadowing and mentoring opportunities with professionals
Who you are
You are interested in a career in Machine Learning and/or Data Engineering
You are a current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field, and planning to graduate in 2024
You currently have valid work authorization to work in the country in which this role is based that will extend from June to August 2023
You have a strong mathematical background in statistics and machine learning
You have some experience with languages such as Python, Scala, SQL
You might have experience with NLP, ETL, Data Processing
You have strong written and verbal communication skills
You are excited and eager to learn

Our paid summer internships last for 10-13 weeks and start at the beginning of June. The last day to apply is February 17, 2023, at 11:59 PM ET.
The United States hourly rate for this position is 33.00 USD (Undergraduate First Year & Sophomores), 42.00 USD (Undergraduate Juniors & Seniors), 49.00 USD (Masters) & 58.00 USD (PhD) per hour plus a one-time intern stipend of 2,253 USD. This position is overtime eligible. These rates may be modified in the future.
