Responsibilities

- Monitoring network infrastructure across OSI layers 1-3.

- Expanding and refining alerting and reporting mechanisms to ensure operational efficiency.

- Crafting resilient and high-performing network solutions to support emerging business initiatives.

- Providing ongoing support for existing network environments.

- Tackling intricate network issues with precision and expertise.

- Engaging with a 24/7 support team to uphold firm operations.

- Facilitating seamless communication and cooperation with core technical teams during project support and critical brainstorming sessions.

Experience

- Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field of study and networking certifications (CCNA/CCNP highly preferred)

- Preference for candidates with prior experience in the financial services sector.

- Configuration and monitoring of Cisco networking equipment (NX-OS and IOS)

- Implementation of layer 1 replication and capture techniques.

- Diagnosis and resolution of TCP-related performance and quality issues.

- Management of data center operations.

- Expertise in routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF

- Expertise in L2 switching, STP, L2 redundancy, trunking.

- Knowledge of fiber cabling and circuit provisioning/delivery.

- Understanding of PIM and Multicast routing techniques and troubleshooting

- Proficiency in security platforms and VPN technologies (e.g., Palo Alto Firewalls, IPSEC, Security Policies, NAT).

- Experience in Python/Ansible is preferred.

- Exposure to lab environments for testing and validation of new functionality/designs is a plus.

- Prior experience within the financial services industry is a plus.
