About the Role:**
**
We're looking for a Production Engineer to join our London-based DevOps team!
You'll be responsible for keeping our mid-to-back office trading systems
running reliably, maintaining the infrastructure they run on, responding to
production issues, and improving the tools and processes that support our
trading operations.
This is a hands-on role. You'll work across the stack, from managing on-prem
Linux servers to troubleshooting application-level issues in production
trading systems. Our environment moves fast, tolerance for downtime is low,
and the work you do directly impacts the business.
You'll report to the Head of DevOps and work alongside a small team of
engineers who collectively own infrastructure, deployments, monitoring, and
production support.
What You'll Do
Production Infrastructure
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment tooling, and containerized workloads (Docker, Podman, or similar).
- Enhance monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Software Development & Automation
- Develop applications, ETL pipelines, and automation that support trading operations and improve business workflows.
- Build tools that increase developer productivity, reduce manual effort, and improve system reliability.
Production Operations
- Monitor production systems, respond to alerts, and participate in an on-call rotation supporting critical trading infrastructure.
- Lead production incidents from triage through resolution, perform root cause analysis, and maintain operational documentation and runbooks.
Data Quality & Trading Operations
- Monitor and validate reference data and pricing pipelines to ensure accurate trading, risk, and P&L data.
- Build automated reconciliation and data quality checks, and support the onboarding of new financial instruments across production systems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another STEM-related discipline.
- Experience as a Production Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Systems Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong Python scripting experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across technical teams.
- Familiarity/experience with some of the following:
- Bash scripting
- Managing on-premises infrastructure and applications
- Docker, Podman, or similar container technologies
- SQL and relational databases
- Building or supporting CI/CD pipelines
- Git and modern software development practices
- Troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing production systems
- Monitoring and observability platforms such as Grafana Labs products
- Configuration management tools such as Ansible
- Orchestration frameworks such as Airflow or Dagster
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting systematic trading platforms or financial systems.
- Experience developing in C++.
- Familiarity with reference data management, market data, or P&L production processes.
- Experience building data quality or reconciliation frameworks.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or similar.
What Success Looks Like
In your first year, you will help:
- Improve the reliability and resilience of our production environment.
- Reduce manual effort through automation.
- Simplify and improve deployment pipelines.
- Enhance monitoring and operational visibility.
- Improve data quality and production processes supporting our trading platform.
- Contribute to a scalable, maintainable, and highly reliable engineering platform.
