Quantitative Developer – London

We are looking for an individual with a passion for problem-solving and creating innovative solutions to join our Liquid Markets Portfolio Implementation Team as a Quantitative Developer.

A bit about the job:

Within this role you will help the investment management team drive process innovation through identifying opportunities to incorporate data analytics and machine learning into our processes. Your focus will be on Credit where you will use your skillset to challenge and develop our investment processes. You will bring your curiosity to test and develop quantitative insight, and software engineering skills to help build the next generation of quantitative credit tools. You will be working within a diverse team with a range of talent that you will collaborate with on a range of areas with deep experience to tap into and learn from across our investment teams. The Liquid Markets Portfolio Implementation team are responsible for managing the day-to-day requirements across portfolios and ensuring appropriate process hygiene factors are in place and respected, while also performing a key role in ensuring the portfolios are set to deliver the investment strategy.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Inquisitive nature, a team player with willingness to learn and further development, problem-solving and an analytic mindset with the confidence to voice opinion and challenge the status quo.

  • Experience ideally in financial markets in a data-science and/or software engineering role.

  • Ability to bring clarity to complex ideas through an understanding and application of data science techniques.

  • Experience with Python and SQL for machine learning and analytics.

In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
