Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Develop statistical models and tools to support pricing and risk management of hedge fund client portfolios optimizing the trading desk P&Ls and balance sheet consumptions. Build analytical models and tools to extract signals off Prime client positioning and trading data. Formulate business problems in mathematical terms so that they can be solved by mathematical and statistical models. Apply machine learning techniques to run large-scale data analysis to test hypotheses and extract important business insights. Conduct deep dives into client portfolios to assess exposures to common equity risk drivers and then present results to front desk and prime risk team in order to influence the margin requirements parameterization and rebalancing conversation with clients. Work with equity finance trading desks to understand business objectives and their issues. Assist with forecasting future events which trading desks will embed into their trading strategies. Participate in large scale optimizations to help the business enhance desk workflow and decision-making speed. Program models in the firm’s production developer environment. Engage tech partners to deploy the models to traders’ desktops.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's Degree in Financial Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or in Quantitative Research, Quantitative Strategy, or related occupation. Experience can be gained through professional work experience or internships.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Python, R, Matlab, or C++; machine learning packages including Sklearn and statsmodel; databases with SQL or KDB; Latex; time series analysis; stochastic processes; probability theory; financial derivatives; and Monte Carlo simulation. Experience in skills can be gained during attainment of graduate degree, professional work experience, or internships.

Full-Time. Salary: $205,000.00-$275,000.00 per year.
