What You 'll Do:

  • Conduct alpha factor research from scratch to end, including data gathering, ETL, analysis, implementation, back-testing, and model ensemble for systematic equity strategies

  • Conduct research on portfolio optimization, transaction cost, and risk models

  • Maintain and improve existing production and research infrastructure; Review and enhance current implementation

  • Work with PM in the day-to-day investment process, including monitoring portfolio risk exposures, attributing performance drivers, evaluating post-trading transaction cost, etc.

What We 're Looking For:

  • 1-3 years of quantitative research experience in equity strategies, either buy-side or sell-side

  • An MS / Ph.D. degree from quantitative finance, statistics, or other quantitative fields with a strong background in applied mathematics, finance, economics, computational science, and engineering

  • Familiarity with the equity factors framework

  • Good intuition for conducting empirical financial research and strong analytical, statistical, and quantitative skills

  • Strong programming skills and proficiency in SQL, Python, and Matlab

  • Good knowledge of portfolio construction and optimization techniques

  • Research experience working with large data sets, applying statistical and numerical methods. Experience with alternative data is a plus

  • Knowledge of Financial and Macroeconomic databases, like Bloomberg, Compustat, Worldscope, IBES, Datastream, CRSP, etc.

  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and effective multitasking and prioritization skills

  • CFA is a plus

In accordance with Section 8-107(32) as set forth in the New York City Human Rights Law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:

Base Salary Range: $90,000-$120,000

Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
