Who You 'll Work With:

The Arya Research Analyst role offers a unique opportunity to join a fast- paced and growing team within AB. Our Portfolio Management teams are typically focused and nimble teams, where the analyst will have a high level of responsibility and be empowered to make an important contribution.

What You 'll Do:

  • Gain insight to the challenging dynamics of working on an equity focused, long/short, multi-manager hedge-fund platform

  • Acquire expertise working with a Portfolio Manager who is a seasoned Consumer sector expert

  • Learn a process driven model for fundamental, in-depth analysis of an industry and subset of companies, and make contributions to forward-looking financial analysis

  • Interact with trading, management, and other research teams across the firm

  • Assist in the construction and management of a portfolio of long/short equity & related instruments with a focus on generating high idiosyncratic returns

  • Perform diligent & deep dive fundamental research on universe of investments

  • Update individual models & research notes on stock ideas on a regular basis in keeping with the investment and compliance process requirements

  • Conduct thematic research projects in the Consumer sector to contribute to the analysis of industry specific developments and trends

  • Attend conferences and industry events, while forging relationships with the relevant sell side analysts, salespeople, and research peers

What We 're Looking For:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record

  • Must have 2-4 years of experience at either a hedge fund, equity research, investment banking or relevant industry experience covering the Consumer sector, with a preference of Consumer Staples

  • Excellent broad-based analytical skills with a strong quantitative background (may have credentials such as the CFA or CPA)

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

  • Relentless intellectual curiosity and a drive to excel at the highest level

  • A consummate team player who seeks a highly rigorous and collegial environment for their career development

AB Arya Partners (“Arya”) is a separate business unit within AllianceBernstein L.P. (AB). AllianceBernstein is composed of five separate business units. Arya is the firm’s public-market alternatives business, primarily focused on fundamental long/short equity investing. The business is comprised of a global multi-manager hedge fund, as well as several sector- and strategy-specific long-short equity funds.

In accordance with Section 8-107(32) as set forth in the New York City Human Rights Law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows:

Base Salary Range: $150,000 to $175,000

Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards. In addition AB provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, sick and vacation time off.
