About the Research Department

Our mission is to understand how the world works — building and compounding our understanding of the timeless cause-and-effect relationships that move global economies and markets. With curiosity, cutting-edge technology, and deep sets of data, we build frameworks and analytical models that explain everything from long-term debt cycles to currency devaluations; and we use that compounded understanding to create and evolve our investment strategies and portfolios for our clients. About the Government Policy Team

The Government Policy team plays a vital role in Bridgewater’s research process, helping to perceive and build a deep understanding of significant themes in global policy and the political economy, and to communicate these ideas internally and externally. Our associates have a strong interest in international economic relations, and enjoy and have a track record in conducting in-depth research that produces unique insights into the most important national and global political economic questions of the day. The team’s rigorous, exploratory research helps drive Bridgewater’s understanding of global policy developments and how these may impact markets and economies.

  • Hold a high degree of pride, personal responsibility, and ownership in your work.
  • Are able to consistently step back and improve your way of operating, and are open to receiving and giving quality feedback.
  • Thrive in a collaborative environment.
