At Regions, the Risk Analyst performs advanced risk analyst duties as a first or second- line of defense function for the bank. This position will lead the coordination efforts with internal and external parties to conduct financial reporting, controls, policy and procedure documentation, governance activities, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, this position will develop and implement independent reporting and/or financial analysis to assist in the Risk team’s oversight role. This role will assist in improvement efforts and provide regular updates on various practices, reports, policies, and procedures within the department.
Primary Responsibilities
Conducts routine or non-complex identification, measurement, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting tasks Develops and reports independent analyses that provide greater insight into risk exposures and mitigation efforts Enhances team processes, and updates policies and procedures to reflect improvements Participates in the team’s preparation and involvement in regulatory examinations, which may include the annual Federal Reserve stress tests, examinations, etc. Remains well informed of regulatory and industry practices Resolves a range of straightforward problems and analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures Builds knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers May assist with financial stress testing simulations This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field and two (2) years of related experience Or High School Diploma and six (6) years of related experience Familiarity with fundamental risk theories, principles, and concepts Skills and Competencies
Ability to learn additional systems as needed Ability to research, analyze data, and derive facts Ability to work in a team environment when applicable Ability to work under direct guidance Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills Strong work ethic and self-motivation
