The People Analytics team is looking for an experienced Data Scientist to lead and/or contribute to some of our key projects, such as survey analysis (employee listening); how to hire, promote, and retain a demographically diverse workforce; and how to maintain fairness in key company processes. The role is highly cross-functional, and you will work with Talent Leaders, Legal, Diversity and Belonging, and other core people-oriented teams. We need a Data Scientist with a proven track record in translating data to insights and action.

**A typical day: **

Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to understand people-related business problems, and gather relevant people data to analyze
Utilize appropriate statistical models and data science methodologies to gain insights, explain, or predict a wide variety of people-related processes, such as hiring, promotion, productivity, attrition, employee engagement, and workplace diversity, among others
Translate data and insights into meaningful visualizations and stories to drive strategy, action, and decision-making with leaders across the business
Align research priorities with business priorities and take a customer-focused mindset in working with stakeholders
Leverage academic expertise and knowledge of people analytics trends to address practical business challenges
Exercise traits of adaptability and good judgment to support organizational agility
Be a constant learner, active listener, and teacher to advance data science, people analytics, and Airbnb

Your expertise:

5+ years in industry experience and a Master's degree/PhD in a quantitative field
Experience in research design and advanced statistical analysis (experimentation and quasi-experimental methods)
Ability to conduct statistical analysis using R or Python
Ability to access databases via SQL
Knowledge of and experience in survey design and analysis
Experience interpreting survey data and using it to drive decisions
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to cross functional partners of varying technical levels and drive impact
Understanding of the external people analytics landscape and trends
Experience working with large practical datasets

How we'll take care of you:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $152,000 and $203,500. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Airbnb,Inc. can employ in states where we have registered entities.
