NVIDIA is hiring senior backend engineers to develop a compute platform for accelerating development of Autonomous Vehicles. You will help architecting, developing and scaling the platform to support large scale interactive and batch AV workloads in the cloud. Looking for candidates in SF Bay Area, Seattle Area, NYC, Austin, Boulder or Remote. You will need to have strong programming skills, a deep understanding of cloud technologies, systems engineering, and distributed systems architecture. You will need to have excellent communication and collaboration skills. Together, we will build the exa-scale software 2.0 cloud platform for one of the most ambitious problems of our time: autonomous vehicles. Then we will apply it to other applications such as robotics, medical imaging and more.

What you 'll be doing:

Architect and build scalable and distributed services that will power large scale AV workloads
Architect & build scalable tools which provide access to PBs of data, GPU / CPU compute and car hardware in the cloud in order to improve productivity of AV developers
Collaborate with multiple AI teams to understand their requirements and build a future-proof platform that improves their productivity
Support users of the platform

What we need to see:

BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Architecture, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
5+ years of work experience in backend / distributed systems development and design
Experience working with Microservices, Kubernetes, Virtual Machines and Docker or other Container Runtimes
Proficiency in software development using Golang, Python, C++, C or Java/Scala
Hands on experience with Linux and system tools
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Demonstrates a behavior that builds trust: humility, transparency, respect, intellectual honesty

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

Familiarity with HPC workloads and Multi-node gang execution
Familiarity with Embedded systems, SW/HW cross-domain Knowledge
Experience working with Simulation platform/Autonomous Vehicles
Virtualization technologies and networking
Open source contributions

The base salary range is $178,000 - $325,000. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
