Job Description

Purpose of the role

The candidate’s primary responsibilities will revolve around Americas equity trading. This will include cash equity and equity derivative related activities for the US, Canada & Latin America.

Specific responsibilities

Trading of US / Canadian / Latam equities

  • Member of Boston based Trading Team responsible for handling of all US / Canada / Latam equity & equity derivative trading
  • Ability to trade difficult to trade names (names having high ADV requests, high volatility, wide spreads)
  • Provide oversight for broker Program trading and algorithm trades
  • Determine appropriateness of execution venues for various trades
  • Assist in various proprietary algorithm enhancements and broker algo experimentations

Manage Trading Implementation of both Quant and Fundamental Investment Processes:

  • Liaising with Portfolio Managers to keep them informed of names impacting respective portfolios
  • Work with fundamental Portfolio Managers to create best in class execution implementation
  • Monitoring of execution performance and progress
  • Assist with broker execution quantity tie-out and post-trade review
  • Work with Operations Group on settlement / confirmation issues
  • Manage relationships with numerous sell side brokers and coverage personnel

Transaction Cost Analysis

  • Work with sell-side brokers and internal team members to produce value added TCA reports
  • Aggregate and analyze reports and compare to reach performance conclusions
  • Assist with internal report requests / RFPs

Key competencies

  • Min 3-5 years of equity / equity derivative trading experience
  • Trading experience with convertibles or other products outside cash equities a plus
  • Detailed understanding of Americas market microstructure (Developed & EM)
  • Experience with various sell-side algorithms
  • Ability to work with various groups including Operations, Technology & Finance and act a liaison for the Trading Team
  • Technical skills related to trading / order routing / transaction cost analysis
  • Ability to multitask in sometimes stressful environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset
