Job Overview
The Business Analyst will work as part of the Enterprise Systems team within
IT. This individual will be one of the product experts for Arrowstreet’s
distributed reporting platform, SimCorp Coric. The BA will drive the product
usage for all internal business teams. They will manage, create, and support
new layouts and workflows, collaborate with IT and Business users for the
extension of Coric to new teams, and manage all new enhancements and fixes. In
addition, they will work with SimCorp consultants to escalate product fixes
beyond the scope of the internal team’s responsibilities and to implement bi-
annual product upgrades.
Candidates should have at least three years of financial services business and
analysis experience in functional areas supporting investment management
including:
- Client Reporting
- Pitch Books, Factsheets, and Other Marketing Materials
- Investment Performance
Supported by a team of developers and QA, this resource will take full
ownership of the product and its internal usage. The BA must be an expert
system administrator and very comfortable with report design, integration, and
workflow creation within a distributed reporting platform. This person will
help users design new layouts and workflows, as well as supporting current
usage.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide system expertise working closely with vendor, IT and business resources to maintain a high functioning, efficient, and scalable Coric platform
- Create and maintain report layouts and workflows from scratch, or leverage existing components (graphs, shared reports, etc.)
- Collaborate with technical and business teams, assist and/or coordinate systems integration and user acceptance testing
- Provide Tier 1 production support, tracking issues in JIRA and ensuring issues are resolved in a timely and appropriate manner
- Develop test strategies, test plans, and user acceptance criteria
- Develop training materials and conduct end-user training sessions
- Create and maintain documentation in Confluence for both the Dev team (functional specifications) and end users (Coric How-Tos)
- Maintain a well-ordered backlog of issues and epics in JIRA to organize and prioritize bugs, stories, tasks, and releases
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Computer Science or related concentration is required
- Proven experience implementing client reporting, sales enablement, fact sheets, etc. preferably using SimCorp Coric; Other application experience will be highly considered
- Candidates should have experience analyzing business processes, developing business and functional requirements, conducting functional testing, and working as part of both agile and non-agile teams
- Knowledge on how to build layouts within the tool(s) is required; experience with data collection (stored procedures and data blocks) is highly desired
- Experience in querying data using Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience in creating, documenting, and managing plans, technical specifications, and business status reporting
- General understanding of system architecture
- Structured, disciplined approach to work, with attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and documentation skills are required
- Familiarity with JIRA for backlog management
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work with senior management & stakeholders to prioritize new feature requests and meet deadlines.
