Description

XR Trading is a proprietary trading firm with locations in Chicago, London, New York and Amsterdam. XR participates in a wide variety of marketplaces including global futures, equites, commodities, options, fixed income, and cryptocurrencies. We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Software Engineer Intern to join our growing IT team. Our culture emphasizes teamwork, and focuses on continuous integration and test-driven development.

The intern will work on data-related development projects. This position will be mentored by our IT staff to make impactful contributions to Python, database, and web-based systems. Successful applicants for this position will initially work on Python and Node.js based projects, although opportunities may arise to work on other projects throughout the enterprise. The employer will provide all needed tools for the projects. This is a paid internship. The applicant will have the opportunity to work at least 20 hours, but no more than 30 hours per week year-round. We are not seeking summer interns.

Education

Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year university
Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Strong GPA (3.5 or higher)

Required Skills

Desire to work and learn in a fast-paced agile environment
Experience with Python, JavaScript, Node.js or other scripting languages
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of object-oriented programming and design
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
A self-motivated personality
