Job Description

Acadian Asset Management LLC is a Boston-headquartered investment management firm with wholly owned affiliates located in Singapore, London, Tokyo, and Sydney. As of December 31, 2023, the firm managed approximately US$103 billion on behalf of major pension funds, endowments, foundations, governments, and other investors based in the U.S. and abroad.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a software engineering co-op to join the Information Technology team. The IT team is structured to have delivery teams focused on delivering innovative software solutions for each core area of our business. As a member of the IT team, you will work with various delivery teams to build and enhance solutions for our business partners while getting exposure to various areas of our business.

As part of the Co-Op experience, you will have access to training and mentorship from some of the most talented professionals in the industry. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and energetic individual who takes initiative, enjoys solving business challenges, and takes extreme pride in their work. This is a unique opportunity to utilize and evolve a variety of technical skills while gaining and applying key knowledge of the financial services industry.

We are looking to hire a Co-Op for a 6 month opportunity, July – December 2024. Acadian supports a hybrid work environment; Co-Ops are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build strong competencies in financial engineering, data analysis, and user-centered system design
  • Working with various business units to solve complex and challenging problems
  • Assist with various application enhancement requests
  • Partner with various teams to research, resolve, and document production issues
  • Work collaboratively with IT staff and with business units across the firm

** ** We’re Looking for Teammates With:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science related field
  • Excellent programming skills (.NET, Java, Python)
  • Experience with Cloud providers (ideally AWS) preferred.
  • Familiarity with the investment management business helpful
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Honesty, integrity, and a strong work ethic
