Role Overview:
We are looking for an adaptable and highly motivated individual with a diverse technical skillset to work in a fast-paced Data Warehouse Engineer role within the BI team here at Marshall Wace.
Marshall Wace is built on a collegiate approach to work and this role offers the right candidate a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of their workflow and to become a true business partner and domain expert. We operate without Business Analysts or Project Managers and the business users are extremely engaged and supportive of development projects. Projects are delivered with close collaboration between business and technology, from inception and design, to development, testing, deployment and post deployment support.
We work in a mixture of SQL Server, Analysis Services Tabular with Reporting Services and PowerBI for MIS and BI Reporting, as well as modern solutions using Snowflake, Airflow, DBT and cubeJS , and leveraging Tableau CRM and Jupyter notebooks for gaining data insights.
This role will suit a Datawarehouse Engineer who is also self-sufficient in visualisation tools as well as some scripting or working in programming languages such as Python, C# or Kotlin.
**Responsibilities: **
Building data analysis pipelines and frameworks for business-critical systems.
Delivering insightful and data rich interactive dashboards and reports to business and technology users.
Creating automated data quality and delivery solutions that can run without engineer intervention
**Requirements: **
Demonstratable experience working with complex data sets, preferably with prior experience in a financial setting.
Strong analysis skills to extract requirements from end users rather than work from a fixed spec.
Excellent data modelling capability
A focus on automation and developing solutions that don’t need hands on work to repeat.
The ability to provide clarity and insight through compelling data visualization.
A focus on data quality.
