Trader (APAC) –Tokyo

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Trader with Japanese market expertise to join the team at Schonfeld in our Tokyo office. You will have a passion for trading and a deep understanding of the, Japanese market, proactively collaborating with portfolio managers on market knowledge, performance and trends. You will create strong relationships across internal/external stakeholder groups and be able to communicate effectively and work well with others.

What you’ll do ** **

Maintain best practice execution on all trades and ensure the desk is always providing best execution service to Portfolio Managers
Proactively collaborate with Portfolio Managers on market color, portfolio performance summaries and trading ideas
Understand day-to-day risk, regulatory, and compliance issues associated with all execution matters in Japan
Understand Ops & Technology issues associated with the Asia Trading desk
Manage broker relationships and provide feedback to all our execution counterparties
Manage communication and trading needs of US and European PMs with Japanese market

What you’ll bring

What you need:

3+ years trading experience in the Japanese market.
Deep understanding of equities trading, within Japanese market
Japanese and English language skills.
Experience collaborating and supporting multiple Portfolio Managers
Knowledge around broker-sponsored algorithms, broker cash desks, dark pools and DMA facilities
Fluency with trading technology, execution management systems and order management systems
Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards
Knowledge around the structure of the major Asian equity markets
Deep curiosity, attention to detail and strong analytical skills
