As part of the global Execution Trading and Operations team, the Trading Assistant will support all aspects of live trading support and any requests from portfolio managers or management. This includes critical aspects of monitoring system alerts, system conditions, instant messages, trading rejects, trading outages, trading issues, locate and stock loan issues, etc. As part of a quantitative systematic trading shop, this role requires speed, accuracy and skill in the face of complexity. The ideal candidate will have experience with FX, macro, and/or derivatives as well as strong organizational and follow-up skills, excellent communication, and the ability to interact efficiently with all constituents spanning across technologists, portfolio managers, counterparties, and internal teams. This role is best suited for an experienced, well-rounded individual who both thrives in the moment and excels at following through over extended periods of time. Key Responsibilities

  • Live trade support and monitoring of all aspects of the firm’s activity during NY hours across dozens of strategies and portfolio managers trading different asset classes
  • Monitoring orders and fills and alerting teams of rejects, limit breaches, compliance alerts, etc.
  • Advising, monitoring and executing rolls for futures and FX trading strategies
  • Monitoring FX and stub balances as well as executing FX for Treasury/Central purposes
  • Backup for APAC trading and operations coverage through 1am ET. This includes generating BOD, processing corporate actions, live APAC support, etc.
  • Providing portfolio support including coordination of trading limit and risk limit changes
  • Maintaining and monitoring the firm’s centralized positions, prices and P&L, including alerting teams of impacts due to corporate actions, market events, outages, and anomalies
  • Providing market commentary, color, and summaries during live coverage hours
  • Resolving breaks and generating reconciliations for all asset classes, including equities on T+1
  • Chasing executing brokers and counterparties for any firm wide breaks across asset classes
  • Maintaining the firm’s security master and data warehouse, especially with Futures and FX
  • Developing and maintaining the firm’s commission wallet for futures
  • Coordinating with infrastructure and PM teams to launch new strategies and products
  • Coordinating with fund administrator, prime brokers, counterparties, and vendors
  • Maintaining and improving highly automated processes to maximize operating efficiency
  • Facilitating ad hoc requests from PM teams and across all internal teams

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • 3-7+ years of trading assistant or trading experience in FX, macro and/or derivative products
  • University degree or directly transferrable and applicable professional experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
  • Ability to work efficiently and quickly
  • Ability to follow internal controls and policies

The salary range for this role is anticipated to be between $75K and $125K. This range does not include any potential bonus amounts, other forms of compensation, or benefits offered. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s skills, qualifications, education and experience.
