RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Perform all model validation tasks including but not limited to independent model validation, annual model review, ongoing monitoring report review, required action item review.

  • Provide expertise for projects pertaining to modeling approaches for both statistical and machine learning models.

  • Provide methodological, analytical, and technical support to effectively challenge and influencing the strategic direction and tactical approaches of these projects.

  • Communicate and work directly with relevant modeling teams and their corresponding Front Line Unit.

  • Communicate and interact with the third line of defense.

  • Utilize Python, R or SAS, and intermediate level database knowledge.

  • Build and validate quantitative models using classical techniques, including regression and decision trees, and AI/ML techniques, including gradient boosting trees and neural networks.

  • Build and validate models subject to regulatory requirements and understanding of regulatory expectations for models.

  • Build and validate models and conducting in-depth ad-hoc analysis related to markets events or decisions that affect model risk.

  • Develop models to assess the adequacy of modeling approaches suggest by model validators.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Finance, Statistics, Economics or related; and

  • 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related quantitative occupation.

  • Must include 3 years of experience in each of the following:

  • Utilizing Python, R or SAS, and intermediate level database knowledge;

  • Building and validating quantitative models using classical techniques, including regression and decision trees, and AI/ML techniques, including gradient boosting trees and neural networks;

  • Building and validating models subject to regulatory requirements and understanding of regulatory expectations for models;

  • Building and validating models and conducting in-depth ad-hoc analysis related to markets events or decisions that affect model risk; and,

  • Developing models to assess the adequacy of modeling approaches suggest by model validators.
